#1

Installing and configuring Teamspeak

Teamspeak is a VoIP service that allows you to host voice chat channels to speak with your friends. We will be using this software to facilitate our coding camp.

Head over to https://www.teamspeak.com/downloads to download the program.

Make sure you are downloading the right version for your Windows or Mac computer.

PC INSTALL
On PC you will want to open the download to start the Setup Wizard. Follow the steps until you’ve finished installation. Note: you do not need to install Overwolf it is not essential to the camp.

PC SETUP

Microphone Setup
Go to settings and then click on options in the drop down menu.

This should open a new window. In the left bar go to capture.

You will want to switch from Voice Activation or Continuous Transmission to Push to Talk unless you plan on using headphones.
For Coding Camps: You should also make sure that your Push to Talk button is something like the Alt key because if you try to talk while coding you can mess up your code.

Connecting to the Server

Go to Connections> Connect

In the window that opens put in this info:
Server address: sj01.gameservers.com:9215
Password: You’ll receive this in your welcome email.

From there one of the Counselors will move you into the appropriate room for your camp and once you know which room you can double click that room to enter it on your own.

MAC INSTALL
On Mac opening the download should open directly into the license agreement.

Read through the agreement and then click agree. This should process and then open a new screen and you just drag and drop Teamspeak into your applications folder.

You should be able to open Teamspeak from your applications.
