The Digging Turtle

Turtles are excellent miners. They can DIG in front of them, below them, and above as well. The option to DIG UP and DIG DOWN will only appear once you have moved a DIG block over to the visual editor.

DIG code goes really well together with REPEATS. With REPEATS Turtles can easily DIG tunnels, canals, trenches and more. In the example below a Turtle will dig a tunnel two blocks high and two blocks long.

Coding Challenges

Big Dig Jubilee: There is a big stone wall in the way. Grab your mining Turtle and write some code to take down this wall. The stone wall is 20 blocks long - using a REPEAT will make digging it out easy.

Looping Digger Challenge: Combine your new digging skills with the nested repeat loop to remove a four sided wall.
